Hunter and Grower | Bangka
Industrial combined with the warmth of botanical styling. The tables and spacious set-up make this a perfect spot to get some work done. Great coffees and juices are complimented with a full fusion menu. There is a patio for outdoor seating, and it even has a cute little shop inside with plants and other artisanal gifts. Don’t forget to check the counter for a scoop of ice cream from @storiesofsunday.
Jl. Kemang Timur Raya No.46A | @hunterandgrower
Hidden on a residential street of Cipete, this coffee gem can be spotted by the botanical patio. Low tables and stools nested between plants capture your attention. Once you step inside, you can feel this cozy place has a homey quirky vibe. Soft sofas, rugs and little nooks make this a great spot to hangout with friends, or to do some work. Diverse coffee selection, combined with fusion food, at affordable prices. Avocado coffee, both hot and cold, is their latest signature drink.
Jl. Gaharu 1 No.Kav 25 |@blu___coffee
BLu | Cipete
Pison | Senopati
One of my favorite brunch spots. Bustling with American international menu. Warm ambiance and great service. I find their food menu irresistible, but even just their coffees are a treat. Be ready to wait or make reservations for prime time. Great for a social meetup!
Pison also has a second branch in Central Jakarta (Pison Thamrin), located next to Grand Indonesia.
Jl. Senopati No.70 | @pisoncoffeejakarta
This unpretentious place has the coffee, food and ambiance (including lightning) all right. The outdoor spacious patio has lush greenery and even a small waterfall. Indoor the botanical styling continues with a cozy sofa nook. The pop music can get a nudge loud for a work conversation, but still a top recommended place for social coffee and brunch. They are proud to brew Indonesian coffee.
Jl. Panglima Polim IX No.93 | @sixounces.coffee
Six Ounces | Panglima Polim
La Mera | Bangka
Located inside Kemang Haus. Don’t be scared off by the dimmed lights, from outside the place may look closed. Just walk inside, go up to the second floor. There you will be warmly welcomed by friendly staff, spacious comfortable seats and excellent coffees. Play board games, read a book. There is nothing rushed about this place, so don’t come if you look for a to-go cup. In addition to great coffees, there are many options for the non-coffee drinkers.
Jl. Kemang Timur No.57 | @lameracoffee
This place is much more than a café and can be your go-to place for any part of the day. Full menu with dishes from over the world. You can buy gourmet products from their corner market for at home, including unique blends of coffee grinds, specialty teas, olive oils and vinegars. Your coffee is served warm, and not hot like many other places. Why? Because the owner prefers it warm. So do we! And for the Jakarta humid days: insiders suggested the Lemon Coffee. I have yet to try that one myself.
Jl. Ampera Raya No.5 | @komunal88
Komunal 88 | Ampera Raya
Koultoura | Cikajang
Coffee and doughnuts; a perfect combination if you ask my husband. I must say, the doughnuts from @doughdarlings look delicious. The chill vibe, with the unique minimalist design of curved walls and warm lightning makes for a great atmosphere to enjoy your coffee. And doughnuts of course.
Jl. Ciniru 1 No.1 | @koultoura
This creative coffee spot has a unique character. The murals and colorful deco grab your attention both in- and outdoor. The coffee is strong, which combines perfectly with daily baked sweet pastries. This authentic gem has very limited seating though, so be prepared to stand or wait. The menu focuses exclusively on coffee and pastries, and it has limited daytime opening hours. They are clearly not trying to be anything more than an excellent coffee spot, and we hope it stays that way.
Jl. Surabaya No.20 | @giyanticoffee
Giyanti | Menteng
Fillmore | Kuningan
Coffee enthusiasts will appreciate this gem hidden inside Suites@SevenResidences in Kuningan. Robust coffees, select pastries and an industrial ambiance with vintage light bulbs. The wooden stools are not the most comfortable, but the long tables along the windows offer a great spot to sit with your coffee and laptop. Even on a rainy day it feels warm.
Jl. H. Sidik No.7 | @fillmorecoffeejkt
Minimalistic with less than 10 tables. This humble coffeeshop offers friendly barista service, and the staff will remember your go-to coffee very quickly. Dog lovers can often be found sitting outside enjoying a coffee after their daily walk. We can easily understand why this is a neighborhood favorite. Side note: as we were publishing this list, Fume introduced a new food menu focused on curries. Curry & coffee; an original concept that actually makes for a unique gem.
Jl. Kemang Selatan I (next to Hero) | @fumekemang
Fume | Kemang
1/15 (One Fifteenth) | Kemang
Minimalistic industrial coffee spot with laid-back vibe. One fifteenth has become a lively neighborhood favorite with various branches throughout the city, including in Kemang and Menteng. They are known for the friendly service, casual ambiance, reliable good coffees and tasteful dishes such as acai bowls and avocado toast. The counter coffee to-go service is convenient as well.
Jl. Kemang Raya No.37 | @115coffee
Often named as the best croissant in town, this coffee spot has a vibrant buzz throughout the day. The bakery produces handmade breads and pastries, including artisanal sourdough. At the core of their menu are classics such as avocado toast and the BLT, but I wouldn’t list this place if they didn’t also have excellent coffees. From espresso to dirty chai, oat milk latte and affogato: you can count on a good coffee here. While this bustling hot spot can get a little loud, the food and drinks are worth it. Beau Bakery also has another branch in Cikajang.
Jl. Panglima Polim IX No. 15 | @beaubakeryco
Beau | Panglima Polim
Betterchocolatethannever | Panglima Polim
Chocolate fans pay attention: here you find excellent coffees and the best chocolate treats. Their signature cakes contain a little liqueur kick (like the traditional black forest), but they also have non-alcoholic delights such as the nougatine and the hazelnut fudge. The sweet treats can be paired with any of your preferred style coffees. While the classic white interior may feel a little sterile, we recommend you to pay a visit. Betterchocolatethannever.
Jl. Panglima Polim IV No. 14 | @betterchocolatethannever
Levant | Cipete
Bustling bakery and restaurant with delicious artisanal breads and French pastries, located right in front of the French school. Anything on the food menu seems to be made with love and natural ingredients, and we are cheering for it. The tartelettes are picture-perfect and the French brioche toast is mouthwatering. You can pick-up some sourdough bread and cheeses to take home. Expect to wait for a table in the weekends, as the place can get crowded.
Jl. Cipete Dalan No.9 | @levantboulangerie
Gontran Cherrier | Cipete
Stylish sophisticated, bright, modern with classic design. This place brings a feel of upscale Paris to Jakarta, and they proudly display a broad selection of French pastries to go with your coffee of choice. Spacious seating with comfortable stylish sofas, combined with a full food menu, make this a great spot for social meet-ups. They even offer separate rooms and outdoor areas. Cipete is the latest of their branches in JKT.
Jl. Cipete Raya No.63 | @gontrancherrier.id
A small laidback café with outdoor patio and great coffee. The patio has various picnic benches and small coffee tables nested between green trees and plants. The coffees are tasteful and the pastries creamy. The manual drip coffee is exactly how it should be. This neighborhood spot opened its doors early 2022 and it's a great place for when you want to avoid the crowds.
Jl. Bangka II C No.34 | @homegarden.jkt
Home Garden | Bangka
Ombé | Senopati
A place that’s rarely quiet. With now 7 locations in JKT, you can find Ombé Kofie in most parts of Jakarta. We visited the one in Senopati, where the wooden paneled high ceilings create a unique atmosphere. Great coffee, and while they don't have the traditional pastries there is a variety of breakfast, snack and lunch options. Indoor and outdoor spacious seating, just prepare to order at the counter (unfortunately no full table service).
Jl. Purnawarman No.2 | @ombekofie
Javanese charming, relaxed and popular venue for anytime of the day. Pastries, breakfast, lunch, dinner, cocktails, or just an excellent coffee. Large outdoor terrace (with carper pond), and spacious indoor seating. This is a unique gem in the city. I recommend stopping by their bakery corner to handpick something sweet to go with your coffee. The strawberry cake is delicious!
Jl. HOS. Cokroaminoto No. 100 | @theacre.id
The Acre | Menteng
% Arabica | Senopati
Bright spacious coffee place, in a masterful designed building with floor-to-ceiling windows. Broad selection of coffees, including lattes and matcha soft cream. Originally from Kyoto, Japan, the branch has become very popular globally with shops in NYC, Singapore and other locations. In Jakarta, they opened the Senopati location with the vintage coffee roaster visibly centered in the middle of the glass building. Note: counter-service only with coffee in to-go cups (similar to Starbucks), but still a great ambiance for a quick stop.
Jl. Taman Gunawarman Timur No.4 | @arabica.indonesia
With a focus on healthy food and many vegan options, this gem also has delicious coffees. You can order your cappuccino with regular milk or other dairy-free options (they have Oatly). This unpretentious place is usually quiet and they don’t play loud music, making it a perfect spot for a catch-up or to get some work done. While the focus is on healthy food, we can recommend the pancakes and desserts when you crave something sweet.
Jl. Kemang Raya No.88 | @seedjkt
